SUCH HORRIBLE THINGS [Rene, Quinn]

Rene was still watching the two. Even though he was not afraid of the needles, he didn't feel like moving anyway.

[Running out of ideas here. Sorry for making Rene seem almost normal.]

Quinn agreed, he did need to be captured, but how? He couldn't do it, unless it was physical, and Quinn didn't want to get too close, in fear of his life, or Rene's life.

"He might have not killed Triston," he said to Lumi, "But my gut tells me he has killed."

Teeth on Lumi's cheek. Rawr.

"Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised," Lumi muttered. This caused a problem. How could they get him to come quietly? Lumi only had small weapons, nothing to tie someone up or anything.

Suddenly an idea struck her. "I know! I'll keep him here and you go get some help," she said, unaware that there was probably no way Quinn would go with it.

"I know! I'll keep him here and you go get some help,"

Quinn stared at Lumi as if her head had fallen off, and tentacles sprouted from her neck hole, "I am not leaving you alone with that maniac!" he screeched.

"Then what do you propose we do then!?" Lumi snapped. WHY did he have to be so damn protective? "Can YOU keep him here while I go get help? I DIDN'T THINK SO."

Quinn sighed. She was right. Leaving to get help really was their only option. He looked to Lumi, and looked at Rene. Lumi is quite capable of holding off Rene until you return, Rhiannon assured him.

Quinn sighed again, exsasperated, "Fine! I'll go get help, but if he touches one single hair on your head, so help me, I'll kill 'em..."

And with that, Quinn ran off to find help.

Lumi would have yelled at Quinn for threatening to kill Rene again but he was gone too fast. She sighed and turned back to Rene, focusing all her concentration on him. He couldn't move...She had no reason to be worried. What could go wrong?

It thundered in the distance, but Lumi thought nothing of it. Suddenly she felt a raindrop. Her eyes widened.

OH. SHIT.

Rene looked to the skies, "Ah, Miss, nature seems to be on Rene's side tonight!"

It began to downpour onto Rene and Lumi. Rene's head snapped forward, and he grinned at Lumi.

"We can play house with Daddy gone," he said, in a childlike creepy ass voice.

He eyes flashed crazily, and then individual raindrops, pelted away the needles, until he was mobile again.

Laughing, he twitched his fingers and cracked his back. He blew into the air, and made rain drops freeze, "Let's dance, pretty lady!"

Pointing towards Lumi, he hurled the frozen rain drops at her.

Lumi dove out of the way. A few raindrops grazed her, but she didn't get anything more than scratched.

She had her secret weapon; a vial filled with poisonous heavy metals that she could release into the air at anytime she wanted. If Rene tried to drown her, she could poison him. But she hoped to avoid that at all cost so she stuck with the needles for now, aiming them at pressure points on his body that could immobilize him.

Rene used the rain drops, to block any needles heading his way, laughing wildly all the while. He slithered up behind Lumi, and wailed a giant ice ball at her lower back.

"Ooohh, that'll bruise your pretty skin," he said dreamily.

"Ugh!" Lumi groaned as a chunk of ice hit her in the back. It didn't have much force behind it though; she was fine, aside from maybe a bruise.

Okay, needles weren't going to work. She used her Dian powers to morph the needles together into a large spiked club. "Let's see ice deflect this!" she yelled, and swung it at him. It made contact.

It had contact alright, right in the ribs. Any normal clio would have made a noise of pain, but Rene just laughed. He fell to his knees, stood back up, stumbled a little, then with out another thought, he froze the water on Lumi's skin. Not enough to kill her, but enough for Lumi to lose mobility for a moment or two.

Rene stepped towards Lumi, "I'll be seeing you," he kissed her lips and disappeared into the night, with one last creepy laugh.

Lumi gasped and shivered after he left, once the ice had thawed enough to free her but not enough to warm her up. She was freezing. She wouldn't be surprised if her lips were blue.

She had failed.

"DAMN YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" she screamed into the empty air, before falling to her knees and pounding the ground with her fists. She almost wanted to cry for letting him beat her like that. She was furious at him and herself.

"DAMN YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Was all Quinn and some random man named Jamie from Adhbhar heard, while heading back to wear Rene and Lumi were.

"Shit," he mumbled.

He took off running leaving Jamie behind, who just shrugged and walked back to opposite way. (Some help he was.)

"I knew I shouldn't have left her alone with that psycho!" he grumbled at himself through gritted teeth.

Once he arrived to where he had left Rene and Lumi, he only saw Lumi, she was shaking, soaking wet, and on the ground.

"Lumi!" Quinn called her name, half angry half worried.

He got closer, her lips were blue. She was going to die of hypothermia if she didn't get warmer soon! Quinn pulled her into his arms.

"Lumi," he said her name again a bit calmer, "Where is Rene?"

"WHERE DO YOU THINK!? HE GOT AWAY!!" Lumi shouted. GOD how could she have let that happen!? She was so stupid! "I"m such an idiot!"

He felt so warm. Maybe because she was freezing.

Fuck, Quinn said under his breath.

He rubbed Lumi's back, hoping to warm her up, and comfort her.

"You're not an idiot. It started raining, it couldn't be helped."

Quinn blamed himself, if he just stayed with her, this would have never happened.

"I let him get away!" Lumi said angrily. "It was my fault! It was my dumb idea in the first place! And I couldn't even handle him on my own!"

If there was one thing Lumi hated more than anything, it was losing. And she had lost. She had failed at something Quinn had told her not to do in the first place. What was it with her and letting homicidal maniacs go free?

Quinn didn't know what to do, (mostly because Brenna doesn't know what to post.), so he just held on to Lumi.

"Lumi," he said, "It's alright. Let's just stop thinking about Rene for a few minutes, and get you warm before you get sick."

"O-kay," Lumi agreed, realizing just how cold she really was. She supposed she'd been numb, but now it was starting to hurt. She was shivering horribly and her teeth chattered. She nuzzled Quinn because he was very warm and comforting. "You're not going to...go after him and--and kill him, are you?"

Quinn rubbed Lumi's back and arms roughly, trying to keep her warm. He started walking her to his home.

"You're not going to...go after him and--and kill him, are you?"

Quinn seriously considered the question, then said, "Not unless you want me to."

What's one more lost life on my hands?

"O-of course I don't!" Lumi exclaimed, slowly walking alongside Quinn, allowing him to keep his arms around her. She rested her head on his shoulder. She could stay like this forever, minus the crippling cold. "Where are we going?"

"Well then I wont kill him," Quinn told her, his voice sounding soft and loving.

"Where are we going?"

"We're going to my house," he replied, "If that's alright with you?"

Lumi moved even closer to him, if that was even possible, so that her body was pressed up against him. "That's very alright with me," she murmured, closing her eyes. "More than alright."

"Good," Quinn said with a nod, and he held her as close as he could get her, but not so close that it was hard for him to walk.

Quinn kissed her on the top of the head, and they both left the forest for sex Quinn's house.
