The year is 2008, here is the story thus far...
Amelia is a world, very like our own, Earth. Amelia, too, is a circular planet with green, white, and blue visible from space. It has oceans, forests, plateaus, lakes, beaches, mountains, plains, and valleys just like you can see here. And like our own countries, Amelia has seperate groups. But in Amelia, their clio are not separated by a difference in language, instead, they are held apart by Eilemaiden, the general power that each clio possesses.
Each group has a different Eilemaiden, and each group believes their own Eilemaiden to be the best. This belief has caused a feud lasting much longer than memory, longer than written document. Not only has each Eilemaiden group hid their home, they feel it necessary to fight each other even when they see other Eilemaiden on neutral ground. The market, the beach, always there are fights raging. The Overloridians even made battlethings, trying to get the fights to stay out of the way so that clio -trying- to be polite may get their shopping done. Even with the battlethings, it's common to see people fighting in public places.
There is an Overloridian for each Eilemaiden, and though they still hold a grudge against the other Overloridians, they try to get along long enough to have weekly meetings on the going ons inside the hidden bases of each Eilemaiden.
...
Amelia is in modern times, 2008. But in this world, they have no modern technology. This means, no computers, no televisions, toasters, ovens, cars, anything like that. The houses are more like huts, though the higher up in society you are, the cleaner and more presentable your home is. xD
If a clio has a large daemon or is unsettled, it's common to see them using their daemons to get around. Other clio just have to make due, wagons and the such. If you are a Cuir clio, you might fly places.

Re: The year is 2008, here is the story thus far...
Taelin, a small girl of seven, was sitting on the edge of the Cuir clouds. Her dæmon was next to her,of course, in the form of a small, blue butterfly. A quiet humming noise was coming from the dark night sky, and the pair were staring out, their eyes twinkling with the reflected light from the stars.
The humming was getting louder with every passing minute, and the two were growing anxious, trying to guess what it could be. The girl was leaning, trying to hear better, and suddenly teetered off the cloud. No screaming resounded from her lips, instead she blew out air, and silently floated back to the safe haven of the billowy cloud above.
The butterfly stayed where it was, still listening to the humming, and still refusing to relinquish his idea that the noise was coming from some sort of alien.
As Tae settled back down in her spot, she told him telepathically that that was nonsense, it must be some sort of bug. The two were bickering back and forth when the sky was suddenly illuminated. A bright light burned through the darkness, and it seemed for a moment that the sky was on fire. Where there was darkness just seconds before, it was now brighter than day. A sphere was shooting towards Amelia and the light it emited made it seem as if the sun had exploaded. It blinded the small child, and she sheilded her eyes. The butterfly, whose name was Kimber, turned into a mouse and rushed down Taelin's shirt, hiding.
With a great gush of wind, the ball of light tore through her cloud, seperating it into two pieces. Taelin screamed, and the ball broke apart, the shards scattering into different directions. The pieces of light each changed in color, there were blues and yellows, and they glowed brighter than they had when they were together.
Again, the small girl had to sheild her eyes, she blinked, but couldn't look away. One of the blue shards fell below her, it lay on the ground shining just as brightly as it had when it was falling.
It seemed more clio had heard the humming, for gathered around the fallen glowball was a whole group of Cuir clio. They were all talking excitedly, but mixed in was a whole lot of fear...
Less then five minutes later Taelin noticed Alecis, her Overloridian, walking towards the crowd.
---
Similar events were taking place all over Amelia. The shards of light that had broken had all landed in the different secret bases of the Eilemaiden. That night, each Overloridian found their own piece of star, and they each took them home. No one could figure them out.
They looked like rocks... but not. They had a weight to them... but they didn't. And they wouldn't stop glowing. At first, many of the Overloridians took them to be dangerous, they were very mysterious. But soon, when the stones didn't do anything but shine their own colors, they were deemed safe...enough.
Some of the Overloridians kept their stones a secret, it would seem a bad idea to flaunt around something this... interesting. They wanted the knowlege, but they were afraid that the others would find out exactly what these things were first. They were important, that much was obvious...
---
The night the 'stones' had appeared was also the night of the weekly Overloridian meeting. It was the first time the subject was brought up, but only two had found their stones at that point. Alecis, the Cuir Overloridian, and Iluhra who was from Solas. They both had stories that matched up almost perfectly. Both recounted the tale of the stone falling from the sky, and both told how their stones fit their Eilemaiden colors.
---
Something was up, and gradually, all of the Overloridians were putting things together. When they touched the stone, they felt as though power was surging threw their bodies. More and more time was spent studying what many of them were now calling 'the star pieces'.
---
And yet, life went on as normal. The sun still rose every morning, and it still set every evening. Clio fell in love, and even more commonly, got into fights. And the Overloridian meetings kept occuring, though they were now in a space race. Who would reach the goal of figuring out the mystery behind the star pieces first? And what would happen to those who were the losers?
