Ah...ahaha...haha. [Rene]

Lumi stood at the edge of the lake in the Ruins. It was really beautiful here, especially in the evening, which is what time of day it was. It would be pretty to see the sunset over the lake.

She adjusted her skirt and sat down. It was her "me time", when she just went somewhere quiet to be alone with her thoughts.

She looked into the surface of the lake. Beneath her reflection she could see little fish swimming around in the clear water.

What could possibly ruin this moment? Well, there was only one thing...

Rene was visiting the ruins tonight. It was quite pretty here. Ever since he had become normal on the outside, he was able to enjoy the simple things in life.

Tonight he was heading for the lake, he hadn't had a swim in a while, and now that Lilybell was finally all healed up, Rene wasn't in pain anymore.

Once he was close enough to the lake, he saw, to his delight, and hatred, his dearest sister.

"The cuckoo, she's pretty, she sings as she flies..." Rene started to sing outloud, to surprise Lumi.

Lumi watched the look of horror pass over her reflection's face as the eerie voice carried throughout the ruins. Her mind went blank with terror. Slowly, very slowly, she began to get to her feet and turn around to confirm her fear.

There he was...Rene.

She started to take a step back, but then realized she was right in front of the lake. Her lips parted slightly as if she was going to say something, but nothing came out.

Heart pounding, hands shaking, she had nowhere to run. Not that she'd be able to get far anyways.

Rene grinned at his sister. "Hello there, dear sister," he said sinisterly. "It's nice to see you again."

Rene stuck his hands in pockets. He walked to the right, then the left, his eyes on Lumi. "You know what's really funny? How much it hurts your ribs when your daemon looses a leg!!!!!!!!!"

He held up his hands, and took control of Lumi's body. He spread his arms out, and Lumi's arms did the same. He flicked his wrists down, and Lumi's elbows sort of snapped down.

"Fuckin' bitch," he said in a rumbling voice.

Lumi tried to fight against Rene's control over her, but it was useless. He was too strong. She grimaced as he made her arms contort, and mentally prepared for worse.

"I didn't have a choice..." she snarled through clenched teeth. "You were going to kill us...!"

Oh god, would he kill her now? Was she going to die here?

Rene grinned, but his eyes were still narrowed in a glare. He pulled one hand back, and Lumi's body fell forward, but her arms were straight again and up in the air. It looked like she was handcuffed to a wall. He flicked his other wrist upward, snapping Lumi's head up so she could look at Rene.

"It would have been much better to die, then to feel the pain I felt that night," he said darkly.

Lumi groaned as she was forced into the handcuffed-to-a-wall position. Her arms trembled a little bit, but that was the most movement she could achieve.

She was scared to admit to herself that she kind of understood what he meant by 'it would have been better to die'. Not that she didn't feel completely justified in having had Moxie attack Lilybell to save her and Quinn's lives.

"Who the fuck are you to talk about causing others' pain?" she hissed, narrowing her eyes in an almost identical glare, albiet more strained.

Rene ignored Lumi's words. He knew quite well that she was right, but whatever. "I don't think you should talk anymore," he said to her cruelly. He held his hand out, and shut it, causing Lumi's mouth to snap shut. He cracked his neck, something he hadn't done in a long time, then Lumi's arms snapped forward, and her elbows bent out, then her arms snapped back, then he snapped her elbows inward, so they were touching her stomach. (Ask Brenna if you have no idea how to picture this.)

Rene threw his hand up, and threw it back down, and Lumi's knee's buckled under her.

Lumi made a noise of discomfort, but couldn't open her mouth to say anything. Although, even though it wasn't comofortable, she felt a little less vulnerable than before.

That is, until she was forced to her knees. She somehow looked up at Rene, her eyes asking the question her mouth couldn't: 'What are you going to do to me?'

"Don't worry dear sister, I'm not going to kill you. I just want you to suffer," Rene told her.

He flicked his wrists upward, and Lumi's body snaked up. He threw his right arm out, and Lumi's arm stretched out with his. He threw his arm down, and Lumi's body did a flip sort of thing, and slammed into the ground.

"Augh!" Lumi cried out as she hit the ground forcefully at a painfully awkward angle. Lying there, unable to move, with the wind knocked out of her, Lumi slowly let Rene's words sink in. It was only going to get worse from here. She was in for a night of torture.

Please...please no... she pleaded in her head. But whether she was silently begging Rene, some higher power, or no one in particular, she wasn't even sure.

Rene's grin grew even wider, and his eyes were like, psycho eyes. Lumi's body snaked up again, then slammed back down to the ground. He did that over and over again for a couple more times, until he finally stopped and let Lumi lay on the ground for a moment or two.

Lumi just kind of laid there, since she couldn't really do anything else, breathing heavily. Each time she'd been slammed into the ground had sent, like, a shock through her body, which was quickly replaced by a throbbing ache.

"Stop...no more," she gasped, surprised to find she could talk again.

Rene had Lumi stand up. He blinked, and baseball sized water balls floated out of the lake behind Lumi. With a flick of the wrist, the balls turned into icicles. He pulled his hand forward roughly and the icicles came at Lumi from behind, cutting her legs, arms, and back.

"Cold aren't they?" he asked.

They were cold. And sharp. The cuts seared with a pain that had gone up a level from the pain of being repeatedly slammed into the ground. Lumi felt warm blood drip down her legs and arms, and soak the back of her shirt. The cuts were deep.

As much as she wished she was strong enough not to show how hurt she was, she couldn't help but whimper and tremble. She felt pathetic, like a wounded animal. She hated herself for what she was about to do.

"No more. Please," she begged.

"Wanna know what it felt like to be Triston?" Rene asked her. "This is what your lovely fiance did to an innocent soul."

A trail of water floated out of the lake and it forced its way into Lumi's mouth and into her lungs, he didn't keep it in there long of course, because that would have killed her, and he didn't want to kill her. He pulled the water out and let it fall to the ground.

"Delicious," he hissed.

Lumi's eyes widened as the terrible sensation of drowning started to fill her. She desperately clawed and swiped at the water pouring into her mouth, but of course her hands went right through the water as if it was...water. It hurt mentally, too, to know that Quinn had once done that to someone.

Then it was gone. Lumi coughed and gasped in precious air, and fell to her knees. It was only then she realized that Rene wasn't controlling her at the moment, but was sure he would start again soon.

She looked up at him with teary, blood-shot eyes. Everything hurt. When was it going to be over? "When are...you gonna...let me go...?" she managed in a weak voice.

Lumi wrote:"When are...you gonna...let me go...?"

"Right now," Quinn said darkly in his evil angry unrecognizable Quinn voice.

I know what you're thinking right now. How did Quinn show up? Well Lumi had told him where she was going tonight, and she hadn't been back home for a while now, Quinn got worried, you can finish that up right now.

Yay! It's like a movie when there's a damsel in distress and her hero comes to save her. Go Quinn!

Rene turned around, his smile didn't fade though. "Don't hurt me just yet Mr. Flint, I haven't repaid my debt."

Once he finished speaking, he held his hand out behind him, and twisted. Behind him, you heard a disgusting cracking noise, as Lumi's arm was broken.

Lumi's eyes slowly widened in horror as she watched her arm slowly twist and bend in a way it was never meant to.

CRACK.

Lumi's already pale face went completely white. She opened her mouth and made a small, terrible noise. Her eyes rolled back into her head and then closed, and her body went limp and flopped over onto the ground.

Quinn's eyes widened as he watched his beloved Lumi's arm twist and bend until it cracked. He growled at Rene, and took control over his body. Quinn slammed Rene's body into the ground and threw him in the lake. He rushed to Lumi's side.

"Oh god, Lumi. I need to get you to the hospital," he breathed.

Quinn scooped up Lumi into his arms.

When Lumi woke up she was dizzy and disoriented. She didn't know what was going on, other than that she was in terrible pain and someone was grabbing her.

"Ngh...Let me go..." she groaned, trying to get away. She started to struggle and pushed against whoever it was. Pain shot up her right arm like an electrical current. "Ah! You're hurting me! Let me go!"

Quinn held onto her tightly, but without hurting her, sort of. "Lumi, Lumi it's me Quinn!" he shouted.

Lumi made a sharp intake of breath. "Everything hurts," she whined. She tried to pull away again. "Let me go..." Using her less-injured arm, she reached up at the person's face, dug her nails into their skin, and dragged them down. "Let me go!"

"Ow, ow, ow, Lumi, that's my face!" Quinn whimpered.

He finally obeyed and set Lumi down gently. They needed to get to a hospital fast though, before she lost all her blood, or something.

"Lumi, please it's me Quinn, your fiance!" he tried again.
