FAQ

:1:What is a clio?

A clio is basically the people of Amelia. As we on Earth are called people, they are called clio.

:2: What is an Eilemaiden?

An Eilemaiden in basically an element.
There are eight different Eilemaiden, they are as follows:

Adhbhar [earth]
Aite [solar]
Cuir [air]
Deilig [darkness]
Dian [metal]
Earalas [fire]
Solas [light]
Ughdarras [water]

In Amelia, each clio is born "unsettled". While the clio is unsettled, they have a very limited use of all the Eilemaiden.
When a clio comes of age and their daemon settles, they must chose which Eilemaiden they want to belong too.

:3: What is a daemon?

A daemon is basically your characters soul, in animal form. The clio of Amelia have them, and they follow them everywhere. While your character is young, and still belongs to all of the Eilemaiden, the daemon is unsettled, and can change shape. The daemon can be any form that your character wants or needs at any time. In Amelia, this is used a lot during battles between each other. A strict rule of etiquette though, which isn't broken by even the worst of enemy's is that you never, never touch another clios daemon. Because the daemon is someones soul, it's very wrong to do this. When your character comes of age, their daemon will settle into one animal form that truly fits their personality.

In the role play, your daemon can hear your thoughts, and you can hear his/hers. You are able to see what they can see, and vice versa. You may communicate telepathically, or you can talk out loud. Other clio can hear your daemon when they speak out loud.

The dæmon can not go farther than 10 feet from your character. If it does so, the character is in more pain than anything. It is paralyzed by the pain, it's like a million needles stabbing you all over. And you feel a pull because it's like ripping a piece of you away from your body. It isn't possible to go more than 20 feet away. It feels like you hit into a brick wall, you just can't go any farther.

:4: What do you mean, settle?

When anyone is young, their personality changes. You aren't quite sure who you are, you experiment with new things to find out what you like, and what you don't. Being unsettled basically means that you still have the ability to be molded into something, anything really. But, when someone reaches maturity, and finally understands who they are, their daemon will settle. The daemon settles into the form that most fits their clio, this could be the daemons favorite form, or it could be a form that the daemon has never taken before. After the daemon settles, it can not change shape anymore.

:5: What happens if I don't want to choose an Eilemaiden when I settle?

If your character does not choose an Eilemaiden when he/she settles then your character will never get an Eilemaiden. For this very reason, most clio, when they feel they are close to the settling age, research all they can about the different Eilemaiden. Your character must have in his head what he wishes to be the very moment he/she settles. If they are confused or don't have a specific one in mind they will lose their Eilemaiden powers forever.

:6: How does one become an Overloridian?

For each Eilemaiden there is one Overloridian, these players are your mods so make sure to listen to them. To become an Overloridian, in the game, your clio is born as one. The new Overloridian settles at the precise moment that the other dies. Fate has always taken care of this, there has never been two Overloridians for one Eilemaiden at any point in time.
The clio who are fated to become an Overloridian are the only clio in all of Amelia that do not get to choose their Eilemaiden.

:7: When I first started rping here my character was unsettled, but now I want him/her to be settled. What should I do?

PM one of the admins, Alecis or Rowan, and they will settle your character. Be sure to mention which Eilemaiden your character has chosen.

Rules For All Eilemaiden:

:1: No God-Modding.

:2: You are allowed to create however many accounts you want. However, if you are caught abusing this rule, or if any of your accounts are un-active for 8 days and you haven't posted in the vacation thread they will be unactivated.

:3: No out of character chat. Take that to yaplet, PMs, or the appropriate threads.

:4: No spamming.

:5: Obey your Overloridians.

:6: Please, please be literate.

:7: There isn't really a rating for this forum, but no, erm, cybering? TAF is open to people of all ages and they don't need to be seeing that around.

:8: No killing other characters without permission from that person. xD

:9: Don't double post. The edit button is your friend.

:10: This is an original character RP, please don't use characters from other role plays/books/movies/etc.

:11: In your signature please be sure to include your characters name and his/her dæmons name. Also regarding signatures--DO NOT make it so that we have to scroll to see all of your signature. It shouldn't take up more than a full page. If your picture is too big upload it to http://tinypic.com and resize it.

:12: Make your User Name for this forum your characters first name please. It's so much easier that way.

:13: In the same way, please make your profile all about your character. The intro section is the place to put your hobbies and such. :3

:14: If there is a name in brackets in the title of a topic (exp. [Alecis]) that means it is only for the author and that person to rp in.

:15: Please put the word END in bold lettering at the end of the last post in a topic. This is for the admins/mods to know when to lock a topic. If by chance we accidentally lock a topic that was still active, just pm one of us and we will unlock it for you. =]

:16: You MUST read the stickies/announcements. [Apparently some people don't know this, so I want to make it clear: When a post is labeled as a sticky, that means you NEED TO READ IT. It's there for a reason. A sticky isn't something you just skim over. IT NEEDS TO BE READ.]

:17: There is a system of points going on. If you break one rule you will get one point added to your account. If you break a second rule you will get a second point added and you will also receive a warning whether it's by pm or a post. The third time you break a rule you will be banned for three days. Hopefully this will stop the double posting and posting in other peoples threads.

These are the basic outlines for each Eilemaiden and the powers they possess.

Adhbhar
::Earth- You have the ability to move rocks/sand/ground with your mind::

You can not move a rock with your mind that you couldn't lift physically, you can move it faster though.

No Earthquakes or other natural disasters.

The bigger the rock/boulder you've moved, the more tired your character will become. It takes a lot out of them to move things mentally.

Aite
::Solar- You can harness energy of the sun::

When you are in the sun, you are capable of super-clio acts of speed and strength.

In fact, a fully charged Aite clio can run up to speeds of 60mph.

And can lift 5x their body weight.

However, when you aren't in the sun, you're pretty much helpless. xD

Meaning, you feel weak, drained, always tired. Aite clios don't stay up late. xD

Cuir
::Air- You can manipulate the air with your mind::

No tornadoes or other natural disasters.

The longer you have been moving air the more tired you get.

You can fly by manipulating the air around you, but it's just like running. You can't run forever. You get tired sooner or later.

Deilig
::Darkness- You can make your and your dæmon's shadows tangible::

You can't make anyone/anything else's shadow tangible.

Your shadow can not change shape, but your dæmon's shadow can. Even in the dæmon is settled, it's shadow may still change into any animal.

You're nocturnal. Yay you. And you can see perfectly in the dark.

Dian
::Metal- You can manipulate metal with your mind::

When we say you can manipulate metal, we mean any metal. Even the liquid kind.

The more metal/heavier the metal you have lifted, the more tired your character will become. It takes a lot out of them to change/move things mentally.

Earalas
::Fire- You can manipulate fire::

While you can manipulate fire, you can not create it.

No natural disasters, such as erupting volcanoes.

Solas
::Light- You can manipulate lightning and electrical currents::

You can create an electrical current, but not lightning.

You can manipulate lightning if a storm is going on.

You can create small amounts of light to be held in your palm.

Ughdarras
::Water- You can manipulate water::

No natural disasters such as hurricanes/tsunami/etc.

You can only manipulate a certain amount.

You get more tired the more water you manipulate

Rule two has again been updated. I've had a few people ask for it and since everyone did good with the two-account rule, I figured you could all handle a three-account one. LoL.

Rule number two has been updated yet again.

So, I added a new rule. Everyone go check it out. I didn't think I actually needed to say that but I guess I did.

There has been an update to rule 11. Please fix your signatures accordingly. If, by Monday, these pictures have not been taken down or fixed a mod will remove them.
