Oh, you [SAM]

Sometimes I really hate opening posts. Like, what am I supposed to say? "Lumi was in the Ruins for one reason or another blah blah blah..."

Whatever. Lumi was in the Ruins for one reason or another, probably just out for a walk...in the Ruins. She walked into some anciet Mausoleum-type thing and looked around in it in wonder, curious as to how she had never noticed it their before. It had to be at least a thousand years old. How was it still standing? Where had the ruins come from anyway?

Yeah...that's all I got.

Alecis was also walking around the ruins for no reason at all. Or maybe it was because she was angry about that whore being with the man she loved. Whatever, all that matters is that she was there.

As she was walking though, talking to her fox about idiots in the world, she saw her friend Lumi. Having nothing better to do she called out, "Hi Lumi!"

Lumi jumped when her name was called. She turned around and saw Alecis, who looked like she was in a bad mood. Oh well. "Hi Lec," she replied with a small wave. "What's up?"

Alecis shrugged as she made her way to where Lumi was standing. "Nothing much, I just got done eating at that new place in Dahlin. The Kiborante or whatever. I didn't have that great a time," she said, reaching up to pat the back of her head where the potatoes had hit her.

"Oh, what happened?" Lumi asked, since Leci seemed to want to talk about it. She assumed it had something to do with Rowan. Most of Leci's unhappiness seemed to come from Rowan.

"Eh, Rowan was there with his whore and their babies," Alecis said grouchily. "I guess I shouldn't let it get to me, besides that little factor, things are going great now. I'm so happy to have Eva and Lorrik back that it's hard for me to stay sad for long." Alecis ended with a smile, thinking about her siblings always made her happy.

"That's good," Lumi said uncomfortably. Not that she wasn't happy that Alecis had her kids back, it was just how she had gotten them back that made her uncomfortable. She looked at the ground awkwardly.

Alecis saw that Lumi looked uncomfortable and it wasn't hard to guess why. The man that had saved Eva and Lorrik had been harassing her for quite some time, something that Alecis had been unaware of before their meeting in Froom. Leci didn't blame her friend for feeling awkward and being the good friend that she was she quickly changed the subject.

"So, Lumi, what're you doing out here?" she glanced at Lumi's baby bump and smiled. "How far are you along now? I'm so excited for you!"

Lumi smiled back, grateful to Alecis for changing the subject. "Oh, I'm not out here for any particular reason. And I'm almost five months." She grinned. "I think it's a girl. And we picked a name; Julie." She was so excited for herself too.

"Aww," Alecis cooed happily, "that's such a cute name!" She was so happy that a new baby was being born. A new baby that she could actually love, too. Not one produced by drunken bathroom sex.

"You're going to be such a good mom, Lumi!"

"Ahah, thank you!" Lumi exclaimed, all flattered and embarrassed. "I hope I am, anyways, I've never taken care of kids anymore." She laughed in a nervous sort of way. Excited as she was, it was still a little scary.

Just then she felt leetle Julie move around a bit. "I think she knows we're talking about her," Lumi said jokingly, putting her hand on her tummy.

"Aw!" Alecis said yet again, "Can I feel?"

It felt weird to ask someone if she could touch their belly, but Leci couldn't resist. "And don't worry, I'm sure it'll all come naturally for you. And if you ever need any help, don't hesitate to ask, I've had my share of experience."

It was true, while she hadn't ever had kids of her own, Alecis had taken care of both of her siblings for years, not to mention the babysitting she had done when she was younger.

"Of course, go ahead!" Lumi replied. At Leci's words, a thought suddenly hit her. Leci was better at raising children than any of Lumi's friends (that she knew of,) and not only that, she was her best friend. "Hey Lec...would you be interested in the title of godmother?"

Alecis reached out a set her hand gently on Lumi's tummy. She felt a small kick and smiled wide.

"Hey Lec...would you be interested in the title of godmother?"

Alecis looked up at Lumi, her face glowing with happiness and surprise. "Are you serious? Me?"

Lumi beamed back. "Yeah! Who better than my best friend?" she asked as she could feel baby Julie kick Alecis.

An even bigger smile spread on her face as she nodded, "Oh jeez, thanks Lumi! I'd love to be her godmother!"

Nothing could end her happiness now it seemed. Unless of course someone she loved told her that one of her friends had died of AIDS, but come on, like that would ever happen.

Lumi gave Alecis a hug. "Thank you," she replied, happy that Alecis had accepted. It was a relief to have found a good godmother, considering all the craptastic choices she had to choose from for godfather. "I have no idea who to choose for godfather, though."

Alecis bit her lip as she withdrew her hand. "I don't really know either... Hm..." she left off, trying to help Lumi think of somebody. Her thoughts immediately went to Rowan, but there was no way she was suggesting him.
