OH MAI. [Cray.]

Quinn sat alone in a dark empty Casa Nova's. He had asked the owner if he could have it for a private date. It wasn't really a date, but that's the best most believable lie he could come up with. Quinn was nervous, very, very, dreadfully nervous. (Edgar Allan Poe ;]) His heart was pounding so fast it could have bursted out of his chest at any second now. Tonight would be the one of many worst nights of his life. Tonight he would lose a best friend, forever.

Cray had recieved a message from Quinn from a young unsettled boy. It had a note on it which said for her to meet him at Casa Nova's. Cray didn't feel like going out, but she didn't want to stand Quinn up, so she went.

When she arrived at Casa Nova's she found that it was dark and apeared to be closed. She shrugged and went inside anyways. There she saw Quinn sitting in a table farthest away from any window. The only light in there was provided by three candles. Was this some kind of date?

"Quinn?" she said his name.

Quinn's heart sank when he saw Cray enter Casa Nova's. But what did he expect? For her not to come? No, of course she would come.

"Quinn?"

"Come sit with me Cray," he told her in the most calmest voice that he could muster.

As Cray nodded and aproached the table, Quinn grimaced. Even though he didn't love her anymore, she was still beautiful. Once she sat down, Quinn said, "There is something I need to tell you. Something...very improtant..."

When Quinn beckoned Cray over she nodded and walked to his table. When she got closer, it looked as though Quinn grimaced. What was wrong?

"There is something I need to tell you. Something...very improtant..."

Cray grew nervous. She didn't like the way he said that. She didn't like it at all.

There was no turning back now. No excuses, no lies. It was time for Quinn to tell her the truth. Quinn took a deep breath, "Cray," he whispered, "I use to be in love with you..."

He stopped talking. It felt like his tongue was in a knot.

Talk stupid!

"Cray. I use to be in love with you..."

Was that all? Was that all Quinn had to tell Cray? She didn't understand.

"And?" she prompted.

Dammit.

Quinn took another deep breath, "When you came back from the rift with Triston, I became extremely jealous. I was mad with jealousy. So on the night of his death I was there, on Theodore Lane, waiting for him. Then when he came, I threatened him, tried to scare him off. Eventually...one thing led to another...and I killed him...I killed Triston."

Cray sat in her seat motionless for a moment. Her best friend just told her that he killed her one and only lover.

"Please," her voice quivered, "Please tell me this is some kind of sick cruel joke!"

Quinn looked at her and said, "It's not."

At that moment, Cray snapped. She screamed in rage, and lunged at Quinn, knocking over her chair, the table, and Quinn. She straddled his body and began to beat his face. She punched him over and over until hot tears stung her eyes. She stopped hitting him and sobbed on his shoulder.

She hopped up, and through her tears she screamed, "I FUCKING HATE YOU QUINN FLINT. DON'T YOU EVER GO NEAR ME, DON'T SPEAK TO ME, DON'T EVEN FUCKING THINK ABOUT ME!"

She turned and ran out of Casa Nova's, sobbing uncontrolably.

Quinn wasn't at all surprised by Cray's reaction. He actually expected it. He wished she would have done more. His once attractive face was now ugly and disfigured with bruises, swolleness and a bloody nose. He was surprised that he wasn't missing teeth.

He sat up and blinked back the dizziness. He picked up the two chairs and table, blew out the candles, locked Casa Nova's door, and left it the way it was when he had arrived.

Quinn would shed no tears tonight.
