Hopelessly Loooooost

Gemma was running faster than she had ever run before. Her legs hurt, she was out of breath, and she didn't know where she was going. Sen flew beside her as a hummingbird. They were scared.

Gem kept running until she felt like she was about to pass out. She needed to stop and catch her breath. "A...are they...still chasing us...Sen..?" she managed to gasp.

"I don't see or hear them," Sen reported. "I think we've lost them, Gem."

"Phew," Gem let out a sigh of relief, resting her hands on her knees. Some nasty clio had tried to jump them on Theodore Lane and they took off into the forest. The Forest of Linius. The dark...scary forest. Once Gem's breathing had returned to normal, she looked around. Nothing looked familiar. "Uh, Sen...I think we lost ourselves in the process of losing them."

Sen flitted around a bit, flying as far away from Gem as he could, looking around for anything familiar. She was right. They were lost. "Uh oh," was all he said.

"I see trees of green..." A voice belted out through the trees, "red roses too..." The song slammed into everything: other trees, the ground, everything. "And I think to myself...what a wonderful world."

'Aven, shut your face.' Ra muttered from Aven's hood, where he'd been napping.
'Aw, Ra, you always have to ruin the prettiest songs.' Aven didn't know where he'd heard that song, to be honest, but it was catchy, and it was stuck in his head. (just like everyone else who reads this.) He continued to hum it, despite Ra's curses in his mind.

"AND I THINK TO MYSELF..." Aven hollered, "WHAT A WONDER...FULLLLLLL...WORLDDDDDD!"

"Aven," Ra said outloud, "Seriously, shut up. I hear someone."

Gem was getting a little freaked out after wandering around in the scary forest for a few minutes. "Omigod Sen," she kept saying. "We'regonnadie. We'regonnadie. Omigod Sen, we'regonnadie."

"Caaaaaalm down, Gemmy," Sen said soothingly. "Everything will be fine."

"No it won't!" Gem wailed. "We're going to be lost forever!"

"It's only been about five minutes..."

"AND I THINK TO MYSELF...WHAT A WONDER...FULLLLLLL...WORLDDDDDD!"

"WHAT WAS THAT!?" Gem screamed, diving behind a tree and covering her head as if trying to protect herself from an attacking force.

"It's that annoying kid you like," Sen replied dryly, "the one from the carnival."

"...Aven?" Gem asked, confused. What would beautiful, adorable, perfect Aven be doing out in the scary forest? Gem quickly fixed her hair a little. "How do I look, Sen?" she asked, suddenly calm, before stepping out from behind the tree.

'Lovely,' Sen rolled his eyes.

"What do you hear?" Aven asked, perking his ears in the opposite way as his clio was doing.

"It's a girl," Ra said, knocking Aven on the head with his tiny paw.
Silently, Aven hoped it was Cray.

"Hello?" he called out for the other clio, after hearing his name be called. "How do you know my name?" He demanded, planting his feet firmly in the ground, a chill freezing him in his place. "How do you know me?"

Gemma stepped out in front of Aven as soon as Sen had convinced her about a million times that she looked fine. "Um...Hi Aven!" she greeted nervously and giddily. "I know you because we met before! At the carnival, remember? A-and I know your name because you told it to me!"

She laughed nervously. What if he didn't remember her? What if he was freaked out!? What if he thought she was stalking him!?!?!?

'GEMMA.' Sen interrupted her paranoid inner monologue. 'You're going to give yourself a heart attack. Just cool it and see what he has to say...okay?'

'Okay...' Gem agreed.

Surprised by her jumping out in front of him, he took a step backwards, looking her up and down. "Ohh!" He said, realizing, "I remember you! Hai!" He was happy to see someone else in the forest.

Aven took a step closer and Ra peered at the girl through Aven's hair. "What," Aven said, unable to stop his grin, "are you doing in the forest? It's really dark!" He pointed up at the sky, and followed where his finger was pointing, staring dumbly up at it. "You could get lost."

"I am lost!" Gemma announced, as if she were proud of it. "And I got chased in here by some nasty clio who were trying to attack me. It was really scary! But now you're here so it's all okay." She smiled sweetly.

'There you go,' Sen said approvingly. 'See, you are capable of being normal. Rarely.'

'Oh Sen, you're so silly,' Gem giggled in her head.

"Oh my god, me too!" Aven said, "I'm lost too!" He tilted his head. Gemma was a cutie. "I was just telling Cray that I have a habit of saving people. It runs in the family."

'Aven, she doesn't know about Cray. In fact, I'm pretty sure no one else knows about Cray. Except me, of course.' Ra hissed in Aven's ear. 'This girl clearly likes you.'
'Don't be vain, Ra.' Aven scolded. 'She's just happy-go-lucky. Like me!'
Ra sighed. Aven would never learn.

"Oh? Who's Cray?" Gemma asked interestedly, tilting her head to the side curiously. She'd never heard of this Cray person before. It was a pretty cool-sounding name. Before giving Aven a chance to reply another question escaped her, "And what do you mean, it runs in the family? Your family saves people?"

"She's my friend. I met her at the bath house last week. She's from Dian. She saw my unmentionables."
'Face. Palm.' Ra moaned, 'Aven, you're so dumb! I can't believe you.'
Aven smiled proudly. "By accident of course...And yes, we typically do. My big brother Lior saved Alecis from mean clio in Theodore. Just like me!" He grinned, tucking his hands in his pockets, pleased with himself.

RoseAngela groaned. For the first time she was camping through the woods absolutely lost. She groaned uncomfortably and let out a winded sigh .Jezabel her big doggy daemon nudged her kneecap "Get going..its only a little farther" he commented.Rose's lip trembeled "but its scary "she complained "and im co-o-ld"
she shivered and tripped over thefor the third time in five minutes .This time she hurdled through bushes and rolled into another place.She just so happened to take Jezabel with her. She pushed her head up "Ow..OWI!!!" she cried rubbing her hurting forhead. Her lip trembeled and she wanted to cry. Jezabel bumped his nose agaisnt her head ' Dont cry..' he said telepathetically ' Were in the middle of a conversation' she groaned 'Conversaa-" she looked up and blinked.A pretty girl and a cool tall guy were around her. it was more like she was in the middle of their circle. "ow" she rubbed her head and stood up 'right..sorry..um ill go now" she studdered and walked a few steps and fell again. "Ow..Sorry..dont mind me" she giggled at herself and looked to jezabel who was snorting in laughter.
