"Probably, but it's been months since I've eaten any chicken." He smiled at her, taking her hand in his again. "They serve all the best comfort foods you can think of. I'm in there all the time with a bowl of macaroni and cheese and some Coke. The non-drug type. It always makes me feel better when I'm upset."

Ra scampered up Aven's leg as he walked and nestled himself in Aven's hood. 'And when are you not at an emotional extreme?' He taunted.

Before Aven took her hand, Cray bent down and scooped up her bag and Gaston, slinging her bag over her shoulders, and Gaston quickly hopped in.

The word "food" got Cray's tummy rumbling. "Mmmm, mac 'n' cheese."

Cray rubbed her tummy with her free hand. Her other hand, was linked with Aven's.

"We can both get some. It's my favorite, and they make the best stuff there." Aven started swinging her hand again. "I don't wanna walk in the cold," he pouted, "it's freezing out there." He pulled his clothes tightly around himself. "We should hurry."

Cray nodded, she just got out of a warm bath, she didn't want to go in that cold. She pulled the hood of her sweatshirt over her head. Gaston was glad, because he didn't want Cray to get sick from being in the cold with wet hair.

"Let's run all the way there! It will keep us warm!" Cray anounced.

Aven smiled. "Okay. Hold on, Ra!" He poked his daemon, who hissed and tucked himself into Aven's sweatshirt. He clamped his hand around hers. "Ready? 1...2....3....GO!" And he was off, laughing and hollering. "It's so cold out here!" He whooted, breath evaporating over his head in a puff.

He kept running through the city, avoiding the clio who he shared the street with until he came to the Tavern. He burst through the doors, breathning a little heavily, and laughing. His cheeks were pink as he led her into the dimly-lit, cozy Tavern.

The whole time they were running, Cray laughed, and laughed, and laughed. She hadn't had this much fun in a long time. When they arrived at the tavern, she was greated with warmth, and the sweet smell of food in the air.
