Dates 'n' things. :D

Charlie frowned and nodded. It was all her fault, she knew it.

"I am so sorry," she said, trying not to look him in the eyes. She was embarrassed with herself and her actions, so she didn't want to look in his eyes. "It really just slipped, and she's one of the smartest girls I've met. She figured it out real quick, and she wouldnt' have believed me if I'd said anything else." Her frown didn't go away, but it was less noticeable. "What happened?"

"First she wouldn't tell me what was wrong and tried to get me to admit it," Rowan explained, remembering the day in detail. "I realized she knew, so then we had a nice long talk about how this is 'the stupidest thing' I've ever done and how I'm 'putting our whole country at risk.' As you may have noticed, there's no arguing with her. She's stubborn."

He used air-quotes to let Charlie know that he didn't share Lumi's opinions on the relationship.

Charlie's obvious frown reappeared. How awful. "Yeah, she's very stubborn. She probably would have figured it out on her own and confronted you about it if I hadn't told her. I was so stupid for telling her...but she honestly had figured it out already. There was nothing I could do at that point. I was stupid and let out that I knew about your letter...but you probably know that." She nodded, telling him to continue.

Charlie really seemed to be beating herself up over this. Well, yes, it was completely her fault, and if she hadn't admitted it, Lumi wouldn't have been able to prove a thing...But if Rowan's plan went well then none of that would matter and hopefully Charlie would learn her lesson next time she met one of his friends.

"Yes, she probably would have guessed, but if that ever happens again, just keep denying it," Rowan advised her. "Anyways, she practically demanded that I end the relationship, and, well, there's really no saying no to her in this situation."

The truth was, Rowan knew that if he didn't pretend to be convinced by Lumi, she would go an tell Zlatan. And though he'd never admit it to Charlie, he was afraid that Zlatan would actually be able to convince him.

Charlie nodded, listening intently. "Deny it...got it." She just looked at him for a minute, trying to take in what he was saying. They were on their second turn around, but she really wasn't paying attention to anything but him.

"So uhm...what?" She didn't quite understand what he was trying to say. Was he breaking up with her? Or was he just saying that he would? What? "Are we...not together anymore?" A wave of sadness came over her, along with fear that they were actually over. She kept her composure and listened for a response, hoping it wouldn't be real.

'It's a good thing you actually enjoy explaining things to people,' Nym commented dryly. Geez Charlie was slow sometimes.

"No," Rowan replied, exasperated. "I told Lumi I'd break up with you so she'd leave us alone. But she's not going to completely believe me if I just tell her myself..." He thought Charlie might not get where he was going with this, so he explained further. "So I think a public scene might do the trick."

"Oh," Charlie said, relieved. Yeah, she was very slow. xD Fortunately, she was a pretty good time, and that made up for it. Hopefully. It obviously did to Rowan.

In a matter of seconds she became excited. "Well, what would you like?" she asked happily, placing her hands in her lap. "We could scream at each other, we could be really emotional, I mean, there are tons of possibilities. We could make this really fun!" she smiled and hugged him quickly. "I'm glad we're having this good time before it happens."
